Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson (nome artístico de Brian Hugh Warner, Canton, 5 de janeiro de 1969) é um músico americano, líder e vocalista de uma banda epônima de industrial metal, conhecido por sua personalidade escandalosa. Seu nome artístico foi formado a partir dos nomes Marilyn Monron e Charles Manson, mostrando o que ele considerava o último e mais perturbante dualismo da cultura estadunidense. Marilyn Manson além de músico também é pintor e já fez diversas portas como ator em alguns filmes além de dirigir Curta-metragens.

Sua infância e adolecência foi marcada:
Nasceu em Canton, Ohio, em 5 de janeiro de 1969, filho único de Barbara e Hugh Warner e primo de quarto grau do comentarista conservador Pat Buchanan. Manson possui descendência germânica por parte de pai. Manson sofria bullying no colégio pelo simples fato de ser diferente como descreveu em sua autobiografia "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell", teve problemas com um vizinho que se aproveitava sexualmente de Manson quando criança ainda, e ao contar o que acontecia a seus pais, teve sua cadela chamada Aleusha, da raça Husky, envenenada pelo vizinho como forma de vingança. Na escola Manson era discriminado por escutar Heavy Metal e ter um comportamento tímido, além de ser muito magro e branco. Foi nessa época que surgiu o repúdio de Manson pelo cristianismo, quando tentavam fazer lavagem cerebral nele e nos outros alunos considerados diferentes. Aproveitando-se da proibição da música pesada e de doces na escola, tornou-se um espécie de traficante dos dois, vendendo as fitas de Heavy Metal por preços caros e depois arrombando os armários no horário das aulas para revender segundo o próprio Manson. Enfrentava problemas em sua casa, com seus pais e seu avô Jack Angus Warner que segundo Manson era um maniaco sexual que mantinha um porão recheado de pornografia com Sadomasoquismo e Bestialidade, descoberto por Manson e seu primo Chad quando brincavam pela casa dos avós na infância.Seu pai era católico e sua mãe era uma episcopal, Brian estudou em uma escola católica Heritage Christian School do primeiro ao décimo ano, onde era fortemente oprimido. Mais tarde foi transferido para o Cardeal Gibbons High School, em Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Formou-se em 1987, e tornou-se um estudante no Broward Community College, em 1990. Ele estava trabalhando para uma licenciatura em jornalismo e foi ganhando experiência no campo de escrever artigos de música para uma revista de estilo de vida do sul da Flórida, 25th Parallel.
Sua carreira musical:
Começou sua carreira na música com uma banda que ele dizia ser de Death Metal Cristão chamada Satan on Fire ao lado de Jeordie White (Twiggy Ramirez) com Jeordie nos vocais e Manson no baixo. Se envolveu também nessa época em outro projeto, o Mrs. Scabtree, também com Jeordie White nos vocais e Manson na bateria. Formou o Marilyn Manson & Spooky Kids em 1989 com uma performance altamente teatral e visual bizarro, o que formou uma legião de fãs na região e em 1992 encurtou o nome da banda para Marilyn Manson. Manson sempre foi muito polêmico por suas atitudes como se cortar em palco e rasgar bíblias, tendo atingido o ápice da polêmica quando seu álbum Mechanical Animals de 1998 ter sido acusado de influenciar o massacre em Columbine. Manson respondeu às acusações com o polêmico álbum Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death), com letras agressivas, e criticas à sociedade americana e ao cristianismo.
